In the late 60s early 70s Whenpot was weaker than today, I couldn't even find my car in the parkade, let alone drive it safely. If you MUST hold your promise and legalize it, make the age 25 and HAVE a method in place to test stoned drivers. You think you will reap the benefits of profits from this but the black market will do far better.

So disappointed in this Govt. They just don't care about our youth's health.

Drug use is bad for youth and for society as a whole. With distracted driving causing such dangers on our roads, do we really need to add drug-impaired driving? Our government should be spending our tax dollars on educating about the dangers of drugs instead of promoting its use.

I fear for the mental health of today's youth with the legalization of marijuana. I feel that it will be much easier for young people to obtain it through older friends. Just the fact that it is legal will make kids think that it is acceptable by society as a whole.

La décriminalisation est acceptable et souhaitable mais pas du tout la légalisation qui n'a donné nulle part de bons résultats.

More work/thought has to go into this before it is legalized. Make sure safeguards are in place.

The legalization of marijuana is slowly creeping in - medicinal use was the door opener and now government greed is now trying to pry it open even further. This should stop. As for medicinal pot shops they should only be installed in downtown business locations and not near schools, community centres, parks, and like locations sure to attract anyone under the age of consent - with particular sensitivity for elementary schools, intermediate schools and secondary schools.

Pot is another liberal assault on law-abiding citizens and Judeo-Christian family cohesiveness. It is another ENEMY WITHIN.

Was envolved for 30 years with RCMP in drug enforcement, and then with the UN Drug Control Programme. I can say with considerable experience that this is the wrong direction and our country will suffer grave consequences.

Legalizing marijuana would be a huge mistake; it is NOT cool. For proof of the potential dangers one only need look to those US States that have legalized pot; they're reporting higher incidences of crime, impaired driving, & serious medical effects among users. Better to folliw Sweden's example; they've already been down that road & have a lot to teach us about the dangers of legalizing drug use.

We have enough of a problem with drivers impaired by alcohol lets not add to that with drivers impaired with marijuana.

Everyone with children or grandchildren should be very concerned about marihuana being legalized. This will change our society, add more impaired drivers on our roads resulting in more road deaths and cause serious harm to our struggling healthcare by adding many people with marijuana smoking diseases, including mental issues for the young.
