For fast charge use of 20 mins plus (i.e. any round trip over 80 miles ) you will be charging EV drivers more than a diesel car for fuel - taking into account the monthly fee of 16.99. That's a massive dis-incentive to anyone considering the switch to EV's , and current EV owners won't be shy about highlighting the very obvious inconveniences to driving and charging and queueing in an EV that costs more to run than a conventional car that has no queueing for fuel, and no out of order fuel pumps and no range anxiety !!! Please re-consider the current pricing proposals !!

I will not be signing up to this very ill conceived idea.
It will kill EVs in Ireland if it goes ahead.

Come up with a sensible pricing structure for infrequent users using fast chargers. Both the monthly fee and the per minute rate proposed are excessive and greedy

This is a serious error of judgement... The infrastructure is still poor, the prices are too high, to the back of the class esb!!

I was just about to confirm my order of a brand new Leaf Teckna until I heard this news. I'll be ordering an efficient diesel instead. I was looking forward to owning an EV. Pity.

Happy to pay for a charge when I use public charge point but NOT a monthly charge as really only use them in summer months.

Too many of the SCPs are blocked by non EV or PHEV vehicles parking. There are not enough of them. None in UCD or SVPH for example.

We pay road tax on car that has no emissions so there should be no fee.

If electric cars are to be the Future why charge now such CRAZY CHARGES. There aren't even enough fast charges especially on the Dublin Kerry road via Limerick. Get the Fast chargers installed in Most Garages/Lay byes then start talking charges & ONLY then.

Monthly standing charge is a joke. No diesel/petrol car user is paying standing charge to use a fuel pump. This same is for FCP per minute charge fee. Most of us, EV users, know that FCP differ in otputing the power. If this charges go ahead I will have to reconsider switching back ICE car.

Let's think about the chargers but the introduction of them should wait until we will get the at least 10% of the sales and not 0.2% as it is at the moment as this will discourage any new drivers, especially that with those chargers EV cars are going to be more expensive than any new modern diesel.

A proper network and 10% of car sales would be a perfect time to introduce charges not when the network for an egolf is useless as there is 15 fast chargers compared to the leafs 70

Propsals to charge monthly subscription make no sense for those doing most of their charging at home.
Charge per minute for fast charge looks more expensive than non-elecric fuels ?

The current ESB charging proposals do not make sense and will kill off the growing EV car market. The pricing needs to be revised seriously downwards.

The.suggested monthly fee is fine, the fast charge rate of 30 cent per minute is far too high

The 17€ per month charge is ridiculous, I was about the buy an ecar but will not be considering it again until this decision is reversed. Only in Ireland, if you went out of your to be anti green the ESB could not have done a better job.
