Additionally, a €17 standing charge for a service i never/rarely use?? This has all the appearance of a body trying to shut down EV adoption. Who are these people that come up with these systems, all behind closed doors where they cant be held accountable for their incompetence. This will be the death of the electric revolution. We have an opportunity to reduce our International carbon footprint, which the government can use to offset European quotas, improve air quality and remove our dependence on foreign oil and what happens.... small petty minds come in and destroy any chance. It makes me ill thinking about it.

the 30c per minute is disgusting. this equals approx €9 for 20kw of power compared to €€3.20 for 20kw of power at home. Simply a rip off from a monopoly power supplier. There appears to be no oversight on these middle management bullies.

I don't disagree with paying for charging but the flat rate charge of 17 euro per month standing charge is unfair to EV drivers. It shouldn't cost any more than it costs to charge at home! After all, we are already paying standing charges (plus VAT) to our electricity suppliers! This will definitely put people off moving to EVs!

Seems crazy. No problem with the idea of paying but the pricing structure will drive users away from the charge points. Most charging will happen at home so the subscription is purely as a backup fee. 25 euro for a back (including one charge) makes no sense. Combine this at a time that oil prices are dropping and you have to wonder is someone trying to kill the EV project.

Having second thoughts still can't get a clear picture of esb charging arrangements going forward if I want to use a fast charger once every month it will cost me 25 euro ?

if i had known of the additonal charges in running my ev i would not purchased my ev it was deception and makes no economic sense because it will make evs unaatractive to potenetial new buyers

We mainly charge at home with occasional fast charger use. These charges make it uneconomical to use the car outside of a 50km radius from home. If the ESB are trying to stop people buying EVs then this is a good way to do it.

This is only feasible on a pay as you go basis, the quoted subscription cost makes no sense. I have never used a streetside charger.

much too expensive; should be based on electric costs at 17c/kwh x No of kwh you use eg N'leaf is 24kw fully charged so €4 approx. if not it's the end of ev s in Ireland

We need to introduce a private distribution model that is complete PAYG! Unfortunately we've let the ESB control the National EV charging installation network.
