As a very infrequent user of the public fast charging facilities (once a month) a flat monthly charge of 17 euro is unfair. Charging should be based on usage.

Totally insane! Happy to pay a reasonable charge based on usage, but not a standing charge - As it is I can only plug in a couple of times a month as coverage is not great, so to pay €16.99 and then a charge fee on top is ridiculous.

I agree with this petition as the charge plan is against the high milage users EVs. Looks like it's back to the Ford Focus for me!

I remember reading before that ESB ecars planned to charge between €3 & €5 for a fast charge. This would of just about been acceptable. No way I'd buy a e-car knowing this current plan. Another reason to think about reverting to ICE.

Charges are crazy. I hardly use public charging now I'm to be locked out if I don't pay this charge. Think I'll be going back to ICE CAR.

If the proposed charges go ahead I will certainly be handing back my leased Nissan leaf.

I don't use it often. In the winter I need it occasionally when it is really necessary. I wouldn't like to pay for this constantly occupied network when I need it so rarely. I prefer a per usage charge .

Only use my car for 6 months of a year. No fast chargers that are on my usual route. What is the tarif for 7KW chargers? Have a generator since buying the car to carry in the boot due to lack of infrastructure. Are Nissan dealerships still free? Perhaps EU grants would have been better spent giving chargers to Tesco's, IKEA and any other interested store and allow them to sell electricity at non profit commercial rate.

It means from now on, we won’t be able to charge at a slow charger in a busy place except if you stay in your car while someone is doing his shopping, as people like me will avoid paying for fast chargers. There is no way that I'll pay for a poor service, and then I will have to use the diesel car for trips over 100km. We do sacrifice already our comfort by stopping every 100 km to charge for a long journey and in winter saving the battery. Having to pay €7.50 for a 25 minute fast charge, on top of €16.99 standard charge will do nothing to encourage people to drive e-cars, and may even cause some people to return to ice cars (they may be more expensive to run, but at least you don’t have to stop for half an hour to charge and you only pay for your fuel). I have no objection to paying for charging my car, but I do object to being taken for a ride (no pun intended). Why can we not ‘pay as we go’ or have a charge of €16.99 a month that covers everything, including fast chargers, as most people prefer to use fast chargers. Having to pay twice is a rip-off. It now appears that the cons are starting to outweigh the pros.

Very disappointed!!! What make those guys behind ESB think normal ppl will pay 30c per minute for fcp? It is more expensive than making a mobile call.
