No one would argue if a fair (very close to domestic rate) price per kWh was charged for usage of a fast charger. As it is the 30c per minute on top of a monthly charge is ridiculous. A child could come up with a better pricing model.

ESB have the monopoly for charge points all around the country, this is a clear breach of fairness in runnning that monopoly. I charge at home 90% of the time it costs about €2 a day to run. I don't use charge points unless I'm going on a long journey, long journeys won't be an option any longer. I was looking at changing but this is going to knock that on the head, so much for echo friendly ESB. Greedy ESB shame on you !!!!!!

There seems to be no provision for visiting EV owners. This puts Ireland off limits to me and many others wishing to visit within their own car. The charges also seem to be very high and charging by the minute rather than KWh seems to penalize those with older cars that charge at a lower rate.

We were going to go all electric and buy a second Leaf. Now we may have to reconsider owning even one.

Charging on longer trips is not dependable. Fault s are not fixed efficiently and there's not enough redundancy or overlapp of chargers.

Makes me feel like an idiot for buying an EV in the first place, now I wish I'd kept my Smart car. I hardly ever use public chargers but would have no problem paying a proper price per KW when I do. Can that be so complicated? At least give the option.

That's no incentive to purchase an EV with €17 per month fee along with a 30c/minute fast charging fee.

ESB eCar needs to rethink this completely. Just switched over to an EV and loving it. Don't kill something that is such a great concept. Looks like the next car I'll be back to emissions again I'm afraid if this becomes reality

Look to progressive countries like Norway, where there is plenty of free charging on street ,
Free use of tolls and Ecars allowed use bus lanes
