This is not good. How do they think people will go along with this ridiculous pricing...it certainly won't encourage people to buy an EV .

EV driver but do most charging at home. Whilst I'm willing to pay for the use of public charging, I am very much against the additional 17 euro flat fee. This adds significant cost to a service that I use quite little. Not happy and not a good message to be putting out for potential EV purchasers in the future, especially with new models coming onto the market in the next couple of years.

Astonishing announcement. I'm not against paying for what I use, but there needs to be a pay as you go option, that's based on units, not time based which is unfair. This abuse of monopoly is very concerning. What about tourists?

The rates are not reasonable and beyond comprehensible!! Am thinking now to get rid of my Nissan leaf. These changes are only going to discourage existing EV owners as well as potential ev buyers.

Don't think that Nissan will sell too many 30kwh leafs simply because the ESB has pulled the plug on all irish EV owners it could happen in Ireland thanks guy's

I barely use chargers. My EV is normally charged at night using (cleaner) off peak electricity. I won't be paying for this service at all, so I guess if I get stuck, I'll just have to rock up to a house and ask for a plug for an hour or so. That's what I did with my first EV in 1991 before the system was rolled out, and that's what I'll do again...

Please, please offer a purely pay as you go system for all fast and slow chargers. The system proposed with a monthly charge and free slow charger access will inventivise people to get as much value as possible, charging unnecessarily. It also makes no sense for people who live in a city, primarily charge at home and only rarely need to use fast chargers to travel intercity. This is the majority of EV drivers in Ireland. Surely ESB cars should consider a system which caters to the biggest EV driver profile? Please!

More people are buying EV why penalise them when they a re saving the government money by reducing the CO2 emissions that we are fined for if we don't stay under them. Bad move by ESB and government

Before this goes too public I will now be putting my 142 D Leaf on the market ! Utterly appalled by these gouging prices. The price per minute is horrific ! As an experiment ( I.e the physicist in me !) I have precisely recorded every kilometre driven in my Leaf since last September and the energy required to charge it . On any of the nationwide trips ( few !) that I have made I have read the actual meters on the machines as I start to charge and then again when finished. I have then recorded the corresponding kilometres achieved whilst driving and I have been disappointed at the efficiency achieved. On a trip of 220km I have been required to start with a 100% charge from home charge and then follow up with at least 3 ( sometimes 4) fast charges to complete my journey. On the basis of these new charges this trip will cost me at least €24 one way on top of my 100% home charge and of course a fraction of the € 17/ month fee !
I thought that we would be allowed to pay for units used directly on our energy provider bill ( as was indicated to me at time of purchase!)
