I give up !!! really have to consider changing car back to diesel monthly charge is way too expensive, I don't mind paying but these charges are just down right greedy and unjust.

It hasn't been thought throughly! Way, way too much by minutes on FCP. I won't be doing long distance on the dual carriage way anymore as it would amount to an insane amount of money. So we'll keep our other petrol car and I'm not sure I want to keep my ev after 3years.

This seems too early in the adoption cycle of EVs in Ireland. Some arguments are being made that this charge is still a lot less than fossil fuel equivalents but it will depend on the user. A standing charge model is outdated... pay for use models work best\fairest for consumers with varying usage patterns.

Charges are excessive, especially paying per minute on FCP on top of standing charge. I will rethink EV ownership now!

Charging per minute is great idea, but high monthly cost will discourage people from buying EVs.

Ha €204 a year payment to use a charge point that I may use once a year and then charged for charging my car on top of this?? This doesn't sound correct. I knew there would obviously be a charge for using the charge points but rumor had it that it would cost approx €3 for a full charge, never a monthly fee mentioned, are we reading this mail from ESB correctly?

ESB must have a pay as you go Option. FCP pay per minute is not right either. NEEDS to be pay per KWh

Absolutely disgraceful. It's really unfair to the EV driver who has low use of the network through a high monthly fee. They should do the pay as you go option. It's ridiculous charge for the charge flat rate!

I mainly charge at home - and there is no access to chargers in my locality as those spaces are always taken by regular cars. So to be charged a flat fee is ridiculous and unaccatable

A complete own goal for the ESB! This crazy proposal well and truly puts paid to the dream of EV Car ownership in Ireland and needs to be scrapped immediately ! It's a huge disincentive to anyone considering an E car purchase in January and a great incentive to existing E car owners to get out while we can (if it's not too late!)

This is an anti EV move at a time when the Government are being push to reduce our carbon waste level. If there has to be a cost then it should be through usage and not a standing cost.

I'm all for "charging for charging" but this proposal is totally inadequate for the occasional Public Charge Point user. Let there be a charge per kW but a €17/month standing charge is ridiculous!

I'm All for a fair sensible charge - brought in at the right time. But this is a Highly Irresponsible, anti-environmental, greedy, and poorly conceived charge which will be put a huge number of public off considering EV for many years. I haven't been so angry about something for many years. True colours being shown now Shame on the ESB - which government minister is responsible for this?

I am all for paying what you use at the charging stations, but what the ESB proposed is not acceptable. Pay as you Go or charge at home - simple as. The standing charge is going to be a serious fau pax and will discourage people to buy EVs...

Absolutely disgraceful. The official death of the EV! €9 for a 30 min charge to be able to drive like a learner for about 100 km - what a joke! My 3 month old €25,000 car has just become worthless.
