Retaining Fr Iggy as Rector of Saint Joseph Church

Father Ignatius Yeo's homilies are inspiring. They're well suited for city going folks. Bring Father Ignatius Yeo back to St. Joseph's Church at Victoria Street!

He has done St Joseph's Church proud and it would break many hearts to see him leave, including my own

I have seen Parishes that have men who are priests for themselves and not priests for Christ. In our case, our priest is a priest for Christ, and one who puts himself last and does all he can for his “children”. We call him “Father” because he is a teacher and he takes care of our souls.; this is what fathers are supposed to do. To move him would be like a woman changing husbands every so many years which would confuse her children. When a church has a faithful priest, with tons of spiritual good sprouting from it, I think it is an injustice to move him. Just my two cents.

Your Grace, please don't fall into the secularist spirit that has taken hold in the Church: where Church communities, parishes and dioceses are to be run along business lines, and a pastorship is just another job. It is also part of the devaluation of fatherhood... a parade of stepfathers instead of one father who has a deeply personal stake in the well-being of the children. Fr Iggy has shown a personable care for ALL our families, being there for us in sickness and in death, in our joys and celebrations... he knows no time or distance to reach out in love... he has been a true father to us... don't take our father away... please.

I’m absolutely devastated. He is such a wonderful priest, so vibrant and engaging. The youths just love him. We’ve all become really attached to him and don’t want him to leave. Why do priests have to get transferred so frequently so soon? This doesn’t seem like something found in the history of the church. Also, what can we do to either stop him from being transferred, or make this process as painless as possible for both our priest and the community? Is it a nostrum to tell people to love their priest, no matter who he happens to be at the moment, and to focus on Christ rather than the individual priest? That might seem callously dismissive of people’s natural affection for one priest.

He has brought such a huge revival to St Joseph's Church. His sermons are so full of life and he has drawn crowds to St Joseph's. A Pastor is the head of the family, he brings stability and sets our hearts correctly. To move him after such a short stay only upsets the pastoral life of the community.

I understand that change is the only constant in life, but the timing to affect it is crucial in its effect. Fr, Iggy has still much to offer us at St. J's and it would be sad to miss out on it now that things are finally picking up and turning around. Please do reconsider.

You have sent a good shepherd to St Joseph's church who is just building up this place now don't take him away he's needed here

To replace Fr. Ignatius at this juncture would dim the light of one of Singapore's pioneer Catholic Churches only now, beginning to emerge from one of her darkest periods.

Please do not transfer Fr Ignatius out of St.Joseph. Thank you your grace.

Let's revive St. Joseph's Church to it's vibrant & active days I remember.

Fr. Iggy needs to remain in St.Joseph's church, we are making novena to the Sacred Heart for him to remain with us.

Father Ignatius is a great priest with very insightful and moving sermons. Please let him remain in St Joseph's so that he is able to touch and inspire many more parishners to come

Since the coming of Fr Iggy, his has drawn so many people to St Joseph's... the Saturday and Sunday evening Masses were not even half filled before he came... even with the closure of Cathedral and Sts Peter and Paul we where barely half filled... but after he came... the way he celebrates Mass and his sermons ... many talked about him and many came sooo many that our Church is packed! standing room only! ....but most of all what we love about him is that he reaches out to us to heal all our pains... and befriend all young and old love him... he is truly a good shepherd... we hope our Good Shepherd the Bishop will let him stay with us.

I've served under Fr Iggy as a sacristan for 2 churches Holy Trinity and Divine Church. I've always felt the Holy Spirit come alive at his masses. He has been a very good shepherd to his flock!

We want Fr. Iggy.. Let him be...

Dear ArchBishop William, You have sent a good shepherd to St. Joseph's Church to restore Peace harmony n bring new life n light to our church. It wasn't active for more than 12 years now Fr. Iggy Yeo has done so much n still doing more for the church .. Please your Grace let him remain to continue doing good for this church, bringing it back to life. We need him to Good Friday to bring back the traditional ways . Pls answer our petition . God Bless!
