First of all I will start out by saying I am unaware of the circumstances by which Mrs Knight-Smith’s relocation came about…. Although, despite how far this petition goes I must acknowledge that Mrs Knight-Smith is one of the most dedicated women I have ever met. Her passion in her role echoes through the whole school body, and is reflected in the incredible level of respect given to her! Her commitment and drive to continuously improve our school is that of a person who fails to be forgotten. She tackles issues head on and isn’t afraid to take the necessary steps in order for our school to become a more desirable, inclusive environment. In saying that, she does so with great caution and ensures that her decisions are solely and wholly for the greater good of the school. I have had many encounters with this incredible role model, and she inspires me to strive to my fullest potential, and is a perfect example of how showing a smile can make a whole lot of difference in someone’s day. She also taught me the importance of being persistent and to never give up, no matter what knocks you down along the way. Mrs Knight-Smith was the miracle our school needed in order to restore the positivity and pride of being a student, enrolled at State High. I deeply appreciate the time she took to listen to my concerns, knowing that they would all be addressed and that she would try her best to resolve any worries that myself, and other teachers and students, may have had. She took a broken community, and guided it back onto a path where growth and success became the ultimate destination. For that, we will forever be grateful. As a student of State High, I can confidently say… to loose such an incredible asset at this time, would be detrimental to the entirety of our school community. And if there is any way that this decision may be reconsidered… I ask that QLD Department of Education promptly revisit it, on the basis of this petitions immense strength. If not… Mrs Knight Smith

The kids and parents don't want to lose this wonderful acting principal. There is a noticeable difference in the culture within the school and a more favourable perception from the general public about the school. Grades are better, kids are more engaged, staff are supported, P&C are happy... Ed Qld have a duty to listen to the noise that this proposed decision has created. Thank you.
