I don’t think the decision on 18 should be related to what is/isn’t happening to 17. The old design of 18 was great. Unlike 17, it allowed the player to choose between making the forced carry or playing around the water. It had a nice risk/reward ratio. Shorter hitters likely were getting a stroke, so they could afford to layup.

Great hole, please do not change from the greens original position. Thank you.

18 is a great finishing hole. I’m OK with changes to the rest of the hole as long as the green remains in the same place. It would be a shame to lose the approach shot that currently exists.

We have three great finishing holes here at Ibis on Legend, Tradition and Heritage. Do NOT change Heritage 18.

This is a major change without member input. The 18th hole is one of the best holes in Ibis. It is a risk/reward hole that is also beautiful and challenging. Do not change it .

Keep the 18th green on heritage as is, it’s a beautiful finishing hole. In his message from the president, Wayne Crowder refers to the Nicolas design division, and “a small group of exceptionally talented golfers“, implying that these groups were influential in these decisions. However, in the bullet points, it is clear that he alone made the bad decision to move the green on this hole, noting that “I think it is a bad way to end the whole“, “where I have proposed“, “the design I propose will make the whole much more fair“. What happened to “nothing will happen without membership approval“, particularly for something that will have long-term effects?
