The whole school needs multiple coaches like this would have drive and TEACH the fundamentals and respect. He’s the only coach I see the kids respect. People move because the school lacks — don’t lose a good thing!

Please keep coach Wager. He has done an Awesome job! I came to most of the games and I didn’t even have a child on the team. My son plays little dribblers and we went as something for us to do together. We had a blast and loved going to the games. It was great to see this team play together and my own son learned to love the game because of it also.

Has an insane negative record for football but wants our winning basketball coach to have his boys do football workouts

If Coach is good enough for Jacob Newland, he's good enough for me.

I'm a state champion from Argyle High School. Our head basketball coach fought for us day in and day out to let us have more meaningful workouts during the offseason instead of being forced into Football focused drills, and I attribute most of our success to him. We weren't the best team, weren't the biggest or the fastest, but we had heart and a coach that was willing to stick up for us and get us the attention and routine we needed and it all payed off. I had 3 different football coaches as well as the athletic director come up to me and tell me to quit basketball, and if I had I wouldn't have been a part of the first ever athletic state championship for boys at argyle high school, we NEED coaches like Colton Wager in order to allow students to pursue their dreams in athletics outside of football. If the students want to focus on basketball, or cross country, then the athletic director especially should be supporting a coach that wants to succeed as much as they do.

It’s time to work to keep dedicated coaches. Make New Diana as good as it was in the early 2010s. Coach Wager is what you need!

I don’t know what went on behind closed doors or which rumors are true and which are false. All I can attest to is watching the New Diana Basketball being in the dumpster for the last 13 years. A new coach every year and it was typically a fill in that didn’t even bother to YouTube “How To Coach Basketball”. The 2021-2022 season that changed. Coach Wager arrived and we started rebuilding. In just his second year we made it to the playoffs and we’re literally 2 buckets away from winning the district. New Diana Basketball was fun again to watch. The kids packed the gym. Surely there can be some kind of compromise that can be reached for whatever happened to allow him to continue to coach the program.
