This action is a shame! Where will our new and old leaders learn about organizational change? Where?

Currently work at U.S. Engineering Technical Services (staffing firm), gaining valuable experience in staffing/recruiting. Looking for a new position right now in Boston, MA in corporate recruiting to expand my knowledge and advance in my career. My education through this degree was invaluable and provided me with a strong base for knowledge in the HR industry.

Dropping this program is a step backward. Analytics is the strongest trend in management today.

I received my MS degree in Organizational Behavior over 30 years ago. The benefits to me have been immeasurable over the years. I received an immediate promotion upon obtaining the degree. But more importantly, I learned so many things that I applied to my management positions in higher education, R&D, the telecommunications industry, and in museum administration. The expanded thinking and skills I learned were applicable in so many arenas. One small way my degree helped what that shortly after I graduated, I got a job at Bell Labs. It was so helpful to have studied with engineers in my OB classes. To how engineers thought made it possible for me to teach management classes in an R&D environment. This program is a wonderful spot for liberal arts graduates (like me) to move into careers in the business world.

This program offers a unique combination of theory and business practices, preparing the graduates to immediately begin to make an impact. This degree is more specialized than the HR Management program but less theoretical and more business focused than the I/O Psych program, and with the right advertising, could set NYU apart from other schools offering Human Resources degrees.

I strongly believe that the OBSA program is unique. It is allowing me to take advantage of learning about HR, HR technology and management all in one subject area. I believe it added value to my life and should remain to be valuable to others.

UPDATE DUE TO TYPO: As a student and now graduate of the Org Behavior Program I can attest to the fact that this degree has definitely added value to my own academic, professional and career growth. I was enrolled in this program while working in the HR Change Management Department at Merrill Lynch. During my tenure as a student I valued the curriculum, virtual capability, experienced faculty and student/peers. Since then, this program has definitely equipped me with the skills needed to become a Leader in my area of Expertise: Human Resources Information Systems. I am now the Manager of HRIS and Compliance for a fortune 200 company and I believe the topics covered as part of the program's curriculum have allowed me to gain the knowledge, skills and professional network needed to make a real difference in my own career as well as my company's success.
I am highly opposed to removing this offering as I continue to refer many of my colleagues and counterparts to this program. .

As a side note, I have very high regards and great admiration for Professor Kaufman. I definitely recall his level of involvement with each student that was in the program and or even considering enrollment. Not only did he encouraged students to excel academically but also fostered many activities and placed students and alumni in contact to ensure the skills/knowledge gained in the coursework was actually practiced in one’s day to day.
I continued to periodically review the course offerings for this degree and to be honest, I was glad to see that the array of courses would change over time to ensure students were up to date on the most relevant HR Practices and Technologies.
I continue to refer many of my HR colleagues and counterparts to this program and therefore I’m highly opposed to terminating program.
Warm Regards,

I'm signing this petition because I strongly believe that I would not be the professional that I am today without the knowledge, skills, and network that was built over the course of my two years in this program.
As an alumni of NYU and a professional in the field of HR, I can definitively say that this program has the ability to add tremendous value for working professionals looking to bolster their skill set.

I'm a not so recent graduate of the MSOB program from a time before it evolved further into systems and analytics. Just today I found myself struggling with a method to prepare, analyze and communicate the massive amount of data collected in my department. My degree from over two decades ago undoubtedly opened doors for employment and swift advancement to the executive ranks but if I completed the program as it stands today I would be even better positioned.

Five years (2011) ago, I graduated within the OB program at Polytechnic University/NYU. It was never my intentions to continue my education beyond a undergraduate degree, though I am so glad I did. Because I did, I'm convinced that I solidified/stabilized my job/position with my current employer. It would be unfortunate if this valuable and necessary engineering/business program was to be discontinue for it has tremendously benefitted and provided hundreds of thousands of students/graduates on so many levels. Moreover, the program is definitely a huge reason why so many NYU Polytechnic graduates have been able to succeed in society and live rewarding and productive lives.

As a proud graduate of the OB program at Polytechnic University/ NYU, I would like to vote to keep this program. This unique program opened career doors to many graduates. Without this program and Prof. Kaufman, my career success won't be possible.

I am sorry to learn NYU is considering dropping this valuable program. I am a proud graduate of the Organizational Behavior, Systems and Analytics MS degree program (Class of '87). This degree has opened career doors for me since graduating. I am currently the Operations Manager working for AT&T for their R&D and IT facility. The experience I gained from school goes hand in hand with the programs my company brings in for employees to learn (such as Six Sigma Black Belt) which managers are expected to learn. My degree in OB gives me a leg up on my peers. As the petition states, there are not many programs like it in other schools and the program is a great opportunity.

I am a graduate of this program and have tremendously benefited from it professionally. I am a manager and I have been working on a systems implementation project at the United Nations in both NY and Geneva, Switzerland and would not be where I am today without this program.
