Safety problems at Manley's Hill roundabout

Last month a lorry went into our scaffolding on Manleys Hill when trying to turn right at the roundabout, and dragged it into the road and caused damage to our cottage and the osteopath's next door. Luckily no-one was injured, it could have been fatal.

I live on Manley’s hill and the footpath outside our property is too narrow and a big safety issue I have been regularly made to back against the wall at the roundabout at the bottom of the hill with vehicles mounting the tight turn I fear there will be a serious accident Vehicles also approach and leave the roundabout too quickly

Lorry size restriction is imperative at Manley Hill's roundabout as was proven earlier this year!

This area is not suitable for lorries of this size and is a danger for pedestrians and other road users.

This is a very dangerous place. A death is wairing to happen. Ban all HGV.s from Storrington and bridge the A27 Arundel Gap now!!

Are we waiting for someone to die or be seriously injured before Horsham District Council take action?

I have seen quite a lot of damage caused by lorries at that junction, I saw the big lorry try get round last year and damage the shop. Definately needs to stop.

These lorries are far too big and cause Chaos & Damage to our village.

The time has long past when HGV's should have been banned from the narrow streets of Storrington. Unfortunately, there is limited will by our elected representatives to take this on.

It is only common sense to stop vehicles turning right in and left out of School Hill, especially as there is an existing alternative.

Large lorries do not belong in the village. The quicker the Arundel Bypass is completed the better.

Long overdue - this roundabout is very dangerous and there will be tragic accident before long.

I visit and stay in Storrington regularly. Lovely village - shame about the lethal bottleneck. Where I come from we cherish our vulnerable villages and their residents. Lorries this size need to be diverted. Traffic calming? By pass? Come on West Sussex. Do something fast.

The roundabout at Manley's Hill and School hill is a bottleneck and of insufficient size for large vehicles/ buses/lorries to manouver around. As you can see from the picture, the pathway is very narrow and is used frequently by the Mccarthy and stone retirement and elderly residents who reside adjacent to this road. Frequently, lorries mount this pathway due to the narrow junction and to avoid accidents with on coming traffic. Traffic calming/weight restrictions or pinch points need to be put in place in order to avoid potential death.

I would like this area made safer for pedestrians.

Would it not be possible to place a weight limit on the road from Washington roundabout through Storrington and onto Arundel i.e. the A283. This would mean that very large vehicles could not use the road and deliveries would have to be made in smaller vehicles which can negotiate the roundabouts and turnings.

Storrington has so much traffic that the air pollution is already illegal by European standards. A 96year old lady was killed on the A283 just outside the village recently; an 86 year old knocked from his bike in the village high street last week....how many deaths will it take before WSCC ban lorries from the village. A pinch point at Houghton Bridge would stop them. The village of Storrington is lost forever......unless a bypass is completed.

We have only been in the area 18 months and we have noticed the amount of traffic seems to have doubled. Lorries the size of houses go through, our building just vibrates , enough to frighten the cats. One day someone is going to get hurt, one failed brake or burst tyre, that's all it takes
