Totally agreed, especially the female library as girls stay there late studying as well and it is not acceptable for males to have access to it.

This is an Islamic country. With Islamic values. Why on earth is the female section being taken down. I would like it to stay. I need to fix my hijab, or sometimes take it off so I can study. If they do take it down then I want to leave the uni

This is actually totally unacceptable! Men entering female-only supposed-to-be-restricted is becoming unbearably common and it's really affecting us students' comfort, and this will affect our academic performance as well. It needs to be dealt with immediately!

Female students, especially those in While we acknowledge that the intention behind recent changes was to ensure equal opportunities, we would like to highlight that male students already have access to a more spacious library compared to the female library. We understand the faculty’s need to allow male students access to classes on the second floor due to the increasing number of students. However, we strongly suggest that the second and third-floor female libraries remain restricted as they were previously. Preserving these designated spaces is essential for both practical and cultural reasons.
Additionally, there are various ways for male students to access their classes on the second floor without compromising the privacy and comfort of female students. Many female students have reported discomfort when male students enter these areas, often disrupting the environment with loud behavior and failing to adhere to cultural norms of modesty and respect in female-dominated spaces.
This concern is particularly pressing for female students in medicine, who are often required to stay late on campus to accommodate their demanding schedules, including electives and labs.
While we understand that the university cannot be held responsible for the actions of individual students, we kindly request your support in ensuring that female students have access to quiet, comfortable study spaces. This is vital not only for their academic success but also for their ability to uphold religious and cultural practices. The need for such spaces is especially important given that the library often remains busy well into the evening, until 6-7 PM.
We believe that addressing this issue would contribute significantly to creating a more respectful and inclusive environment for all students.
