The lack of council and police action is appalling. The area is becoming increasingly unsafe.

I agree to all aspects mentioned. I am local and on Chapel street usually on a daily basis.
Additionally it’s also a dangerous region for cyclists, very little driver and pedestrian awareness for cyclists.
Chapel street is a shadow of its former self.
It needs more police presence.

The situation is getting worse week by week. Action needs to be taken to stop Chapel Street’s downward spiral into a ghetto.

Maybe if more social housing was built instead of the High blocks being built
There are no parks along Chapel St.
Maybe if you built more women’s shelters
Maybe you should call it murder not domestic violence
Maybe if the council looked at what’s good for society instead of saying yes to the developer's
Maybe the Council needs to look after it’s people
Everyone needs accommodation.
Everyone needs a good diet .
Everyone can be educated
Free schools no private schools
Use the grounds of private schools. For the public even their swimming pools
Free day centres
Opening a working school to train people.
More drug rehab centre
Make drugs legal alcohol is.
Ask the people on the street what they need .

I am a young woman who has lived near chapel street for now 10 years (since arriving in Australia for the first time) and I walk the street every day, early morning, before work, after work and to go shopping / to the gym. I have been assaulted twice and been pretty scared for my safety on multiple occasions. Please do something!

Business is becoming tough for all of us, constant damage and filth on our streets. No one wants to come to chapel as much anymore and making things so hard for us busness owners.

Chapel St is no longer a desirable place to go/be. So many homeless people in doorways asking for money, people walking around obviously effected by drugs being menacing, people with mental health issues talking to themselves or shouting, it’s all quite intimidating. The street looks dirty along with many of the shops and there is often people walking up and down trying to sell stolen goods to everyone one they see!
It used to be a popular destination but that is quickly changing and now you have to stay alert for fear of being robbed, assaulted or threatened.
