New York's 2009-10 state budget slashed more than $50 million in public charter school funding. That’s a cut of roughly $1,000 per student, and will harm schools by threatening jobs and impacting employee pay and benefits. This cut in funding is taking place despite the governor and state lawmakers approving a $1.2 billion increase in education aid. That’s unfair.
