No reputable scientist would use the term "acidification" for a process that only slightly reduces alkalinity. The term OA is clearly a propaganda tool, not a statement of science

Data trumps theory, but I have calculated the decrease in ocean pH as a function of atmospheric CO2 concentration. Results showed pH DOES decrease increasing CO2.

The method used was from The method for calculating pH of seawater used here is from MacKenzie and Lerman, “Carbon in the Geobiosphere”, Springer 2006, p. 125.
There is a consistent misnomer. "Acidify" implies, and is often misunderstood as making the oceans acidic, which can never occur.

This is not the only nonscience in the attempt to vilify the role of the greening gas on ocean ph . Studies have been published using acids like HCl , which is not a building block of life like CO2 and utterly irrelivant to the point of fraud .
