We need a Board willing to respond to community questions and concerns. To date - not a single board member has responded to my questions.

Bill Largent is going to ruin the library if not removed immediately, I have witnessed firsthand his actions which work to the irredeemable detriment of my home town's cherished institution.

I would like to know why our Branch heads, Kelley Siegrist & Jaclyn Miller were placed on furlough and have not been recalled yet.
They are the true leaders of our library. Please have them return to the branches & support our staff & our community immediately. We desperately need them.

Hope this happens sooner than later. I’m appalled that this was allowed to happen. Our dedicated library staff deserve better than this.

As a former resident of the community, I've seen Mr Largent's unacceptable behavior during library meetings first hand. He is an embarrassment.

As a resident, the library is an absolute treasure and shouldn't have board members hostile to the library staff or culture

I believe one of the best features about Farmiington/Hills is its outstanding library. Unfortunately, the system has been deteriorating in recent years. This is no fault of the staff. In fact, the staff is heroically working to maintain its typical level of service...at less than 50% capacity. The board is regularly making decisions to destroy the library we've come to love and we as a community need to stand together to protect what is ours.

Mr Largent has been comparative with the library board and has caused much upheaval. I've gone to board meetings and seen for myself the problems he's caused and the dissension he's made. He needs to go. Now.

If somebody like Bill Largent can destroy the library board and library, maybe we need a better system. An audit of library funds is in order.

This really needs to happen. I have witnessed him in action. With the way that he treats other board members, staff and community members, he either has an ulterior motive or just a genuine disregard for other human beings. I can't see any other reason for someone to behave as Bill Largent has.

By nature I am a trusting person, especially when it comes to those who choose a life of public service. So recent actions and behaviors of this board member, and frankly of the Library Board at large, have filled me with such disappointment and outrage. Perhaps what upsets me most is how the board, and Mr. Largent in particular, have repeatedly failed to communicate policy in a timely or competent manner. They have also made COVID-related decisions weeks or months behind other library boards in South Eastern Michigan. They have also ignored practically every single public question and comment over the last few months. And these were not difficult questions to answer. They were questions concerning basic but important decisions that the board had made. This is not the work of a public servant.

As a resident I want to be able to trust that when I ask questions of the board about finances or staffing decisions, that I’ll be given a thoughtful and honest answer. I do not feel that way with the current leadership in place. We must take action to save our beautiful library.
