Restore the Cuts to MSU Faculty and Academic Staff Pay and Benefits!

The restoration of the retirement benefits and lost salary/raises is crucial. For those of us who are within ten years of retirement, the loss to our "nest egg" is meaningful.

I support this petition for all faculty/academic/health care staff.

I support this petition, and the university taking fair and equitable steps to support faculty/academic staff. MSU should keep their promises.

I fully support this petition and appreciate efforts to push for appropriate compensation of MSU Faculty and Academic Staff.

Restored cuts to Faculty and Academic staff pay, and especially to benefits, is the right thing to do given that the financial concerns that mandated these cuts were never realized, and that the University has fared very well financially over the past year. This restoration will be a significant sign of University support to us and will be greatly appreciated by all of us.

This would signal that MSU is re-investing its pandemic windfall back into the people who kept the academic mission going.

In support of this petition. As a union employee, I anticipate the same unjust treatment.

Wages have not kept up with inflation, and losses from the pandemic year will ultimately cost MSU families a great deal. MSU staff and faculty bent over backwards to keep university operations moving during the pandemic. We deserve this support and compensation.

The data presented to the Faculty Senate are compelling and there needs to be a substantive response from University Administration.

This is the right thing to do for all employees. Retroactive pay need to happen and we need president Stanley and the Board to stop future salary reduction and retirement matching. There is a current plan to reduce the retirement match for union members and that needs to stop. Our workforce needs to be valued and compensated for our work.

We should not be divided. However, the staff have their own collective bargaining agreement and negotiated for their contracts. Faculty don't have that yet. Staff receive much better health care support than faculty who can pay upwards of $850 per month for healthcare. If we get traction on this petition it is grounds for staff to renegotiate their concessions with the university. I am certain faculty would support this.
