We should not be way different than other big ten schools. If our policy was much more severe than average, it should be rectified.

Cutting benefits to your staff will only lower the retention of good staff

It's a matter of fairness, equity, balance. MSU doesn't exist without students, without staff, and without faculty. I strongly support this petition.

The greatest resource any university has is it's people. I agree that actions should be taken to restore compensation to show that the administration cares for, and appreciates it's employees.

The financial data here signals a new breed of exploitation.

each year, every faculty member receives a letter stating the next year's salary, which is a contact. How can MSU arbitrarily reduce faculty salary? Base on what rule or bylaws?

Issues such as those enumerated in this petition continue to badly hurt MSU's standing among U.S. universities and make it ever harder to be proud of the institution on which we work so hard.

I support this petition. These cuts have disproportionately impacted faculty and academic staff in unjust ways.

This needs to include unionized support staff as well. The projected cuts for them are to start in January. That is unacceptable knowing where we are fiscally.

Thank you for compiling the data that clearly shows the expected consequences that MSU prepared for did not happen and therefore, actions should be taken to restore compensation showing that the administration cares for and appreciates us.

We need to unionize to achieve faculty voice. Right now it is a show for BOT and administrators that we have a faculty senate. They never listen to us.

Unless the university administration can refute Prof. Jack Lipton's highly convincing presentation at Faculty Senate of Nov. 16th, failure to restore the pay cuts, benefits, and raises would be a serious breach of trust and would make the thank you emails for our sacrifices meaningless.
