I fully support this petition. It is the bare minimum the university can do to support the faculty and academic staff who have bent over backwards to serve our students and the university during the pandemic.

The administration should be ashamed. The way MSU treats faculty and staff is appalling. Stop giving raises to administrators that don't need them while the lowest earners at the university rarely get raises and have had to deal with pay cuts.

With research faculty working-at-home, the University continues to benefit from the 56% indirect costs from NIH grant funding--yet no provisions have ever been made to support our indirect costs (electric, gas, rent/mortgage, internet) for work-at-home.

Stanley gets rewarded for his hard work, while faculty and staff asked to volunteer in the cafeterias. Tone deaf once again, MSU.

MSU must be transparent. We must check and balance the power of MSU administration.

The assumptions used to justify faculty cuts have not come to pass—it is only fair to restore the cuts. If MSU wants to compete and recruit high quality faculty in the future, this must be rectified.

The conservative projections of funding cuts didn't happen. It is time for MSU to do the right thing and restore our salaries and benefits.

If these numbers are correct, faculty should receive compensation for cuts to pay and benefits, and an increase for the future. If we want to compete with other R1's, and especially with other Big 10 schools, our faculty should be compensated accordingly.

Congratulations President Stanley on your pay increase! Byrum says the board is “very pleased” with Stanley’s performance, especially during the ongoing pandemic. How about honoring the faculty and staff at MSU with an increase?

In addition to actual cuts in my pay and retirement benefits, I also had to fully outfit a work-from-home office using my own personal resources.
