Yes, given the budget situation that we are now in, and increasing enrollment over the pat few years, I am in definite favor of this, especially since I have loss a great amount of retirement funds from the University’s contract due to the reduction. As I near retirement age, please reinstate these.

For junior faculty this was an incredible hit to us and our careers. If leadership does not understand that then they lack understanding and support for junior investigators. Strongly support.

Faculty and academic staff are obviously crucial to the mission of the university. Please prioritize their compensation.

I hope we all recognize that MSU admin had to react quickly in March '20. That meant making educated guesses and hoping for the best in a very uncertain time. I'm sure the faculty's sacrifice allowed greater flexibility for MSU and hopefully kept people employed. But given that the financial situation isn't not nearly so dire as was projected, I think it's reasonable to reassess whether financial decisions that impacted faculty (and others) were the right choice. Our retirement benefit was a big part of balancing the gulf in pay with the other Big 10 schools. I hope the president and BoT are giving this serious thought.

I retired in 2020 (am now emeritus), so I don't know whether I will benefit financially from the restoration of the salary cuts. But whether I do or not, I want them for those still teaching.

I agree. Return the confiscation the administration unilaterally imposed on the faculty.

The opportunity of movement to another institution or other employment is a real option with the vacancies in the USA. MSU needs to fill positions, but the public is aware of the cuts and changes at MSU and there is hesitancy to apply or accept available positions. We are not able to compete with peer institutions to maintain the best faculty and staff possible.

I've lost so many colleagues and morale is incredibly low. I'm surprised when people say they are staying at this point. Restoring salary and benefits will hopefully help curtain additional losses.

These cuts must be restored or we will lose more outstanding colleagues. MSU has traditionally been all about maintaining the best faculty and staff possible. Not reinstating these cuts promptly is a clear deviation from that principle.
