Restore the Cuts to MSU Faculty and Academic Staff Pay and Benefits!

Restore the cuts and bring greater transparency to why MSU needed to cut more than peer institutions.

I think the MSU faculty should serious consider unionization. It will be the only way we really have a voice in the operation of the University.

MSU faculty and academic staff absorbed a big hit in compensation while working very hard in the pandemic to take care of students and continue research and research revenue streams. Our effort merits positive recognition, not compensation cuts.

Our work load actually increased as we had to adapt to remote teaching. We had to make an extra effort to connect with students. So if there is sufficient funding, our cuts should be eliminated.

I am willing to do my part to contribute to the effects of the pandemic through a temporary salary cut, but I would really like our retirement to be restored.

As a junior faculty member hired at the beginning of the pandemic, I constantly worry about my performance (being able to establish research) while balancing the demands of other areas. I too would like to know the basis of the admin's argument against the restoration.

I'm strong in support of restoration of the lost retirement contribution. In place of a scaled restoration of salaries equivalent to the scaled salary cuts, I would be more strongly in favor of a flat % restoration across the board, which would more strongly benefit lower-salary employees.

If administrators got a rise, everyone should get a raise. Even more so when projected losses were not incurred. I support the petition wholeheartedly.

I think the restoration of the retirement benefits is important. We signed our contract with a 10 % MSU contribution

I had no idea that so little of the Spring 2000 worst-case scenario came to pass at MSU
