The success of Adam Clayton Powell Academy under the leadership of Derek Jordan, is well documented. He should be recognized, along with the faculty for their dedication and commitment resulting in Powell being ranked a level 1 school. The success of the students at Powell, is success for CPS as well as the City of Chicago (we are all suppose to be on the same team). Reinstate Mr Jordan so he can continue to do the job that we are all suppose to want; effectively educating our
children.

Dr. Jordan served as Assistant Principal at Percy L. Julian High School during my high school career. In 10 years, I've yet to come across a more passionate, committed educator. Replacing him would be an injustice to the students, faculty and parent body.

I SERVED ON THE LSC AT POWELL ACADEMY FOR 2O YEARS UNTIL 2011. WE WENT THROUGH BEING OVER CROWDED, ONE OF THE FIRST SCHOOLS TO START UNIFORMS, GETTING UP TO DATE BOOKS, WENT TO MEETING AFTER MEETING TO GET A BIGGER SCHOOL WITH TECHNOLOGY FOR THE CHILDREN. MY SON STARTED AT POWELL FROM ELEMENTRY. MY SON AND MY NEIGHBORS CHILDREN ARE VERY SUCCESSFUL FROM THE STRUCTURE THAT THEY RECEIVED FROM POWELL ACADEMY. IN 2OO7 WE MOVED IN OUR NEW SCHOOL. THE LSC HIRED DR. JORDAN TO BE PRINCIPAL. ITS MY UNDERSTANDING THAT THE LSC HIRE AND FIRE PRINCIPAL BECAUSE WE KNOW WHO WE WANT TO GUIDE OUR CHILDREN. WE SEARCHED THE WHOLE CITY OF CHICAGO AND WE FOUND DR. JORDAN. WE ARE VERY PROUD OF OUR PRINCIPAL. HOW CAN A GROUP OF PRINCIPALS TAKE OUR PRINCIPAL AWAY WITHOUT DUR PROCESS. WE NEED ANSWERS FROM THE CPAA, MAYOR, THE BOARD OF EDUCATION AND ANYONE ELSE WHO CAN EXPLAIN THIS MESS. WE WILL SHOW-UP FOR DR. DEREK JORDAN IF WE NEED. HE HAS WORK TOO HARD FOR OUR CHILDREN TO BE TREATED THIS WAY.

I'm a parent of three children, two of which both have graduated under the leadership of principal Dr. Jordan, he has shaped powell to be ready for today, tomorrow and any school that comes to our children as a challenge. He is leading and setting the highest standard upon our young men. Dr jordan is a principal like no other and that is what set him apart from other principals,

Dr. Jordan is an outstanding administrator and one who is providing students with an excellent education in the nature of a school that questions what is learned. He needs to remain at Powell Academy.

After reading the facts of Dr. Jordan's background in regards to the school, I wholeheartedly welcome his being reinstated. If this does not occur, I want Dr. Jordan to know that he can still go on to do Bigger and More wonderful things to enhance the lives of children.

The excellent progress for the school sounds incredible. The children and parents have experienced great benefits from having Dr. Jordan as a principal. The decision of the LSC should be followed..
