Mr. Jordan kept the school running smoothly with a no nonsense approach which was effective for the well being and consistent learning process for the children. Schools need effective and strong, knowledgeable staff to progress as progressive human beings who care and strive for their (the children's) well being.

I ask Principal Derek Jordan be reinstated to his full duties. It is sad how we as Parents and the community stand for something so unjust. Powell Academy being Level 1 was threatened closure and we fought their attempt under the previous Chief Executive Officer and now, without cause rid the Principal of his duty under the new Chief Executive Officer. Again we must stand against an unjust system focused on divide and concur instead of educating and instilling values in our children. Powell wasn't broken, the system within Network 12 is broken. A society that stick together win together.

Sadden to know that Mr. Jordan was re-assigned without reason. My child has attended Powell Academy since 1st grade she is now in the 5th grade. During her journey Dr. Jordan has only proven to be a leader, a teacher, but most importantly a great team player. Bring Dr. Jordan back!

Why is it that when our schools numbers improve? When there is evidence that the system is working? We disrupt the flow of black children's education. If the schools are public and someone has been voted in and the parents and council members are happy with the administration leave it be. I'm sick and tired of paper pushers from networks and downtown coming into our communities disregarding our wants and needs. Unless this man is a criminal and has done something that violates our children safety. Leave this school alone

With eight years at the helm of Powell and nurturing the community after bringing the school up to a Level 1 status, don’t replace something that doesn't need fixing! He has partnered and opened his building to Chicago State University classes on numerous occasion. He is respected by the community by caring about the future of the students that he has serviced. Bring him back!

I wonder why "true" advocates for all children are somehow pushed away???.. Mr. Derek Jordan is one of those few dedicated educators who has given his life and time (even knocking on doors and ringing doorbells at night) to try to help our children. People like him are hard to find!!! What is the real problem??? It certainly is not because he is has not been a good administrator.

Dr. Jordan has an exemplary record elevating the children in the South Shore area to a higher standard.
