Five years ago, Avon Community School Corporation (ACSC) had to slash funding to arts programming in the wake of the failed referendum. The effects of these budget cuts are still being felt.
- We, the undersigned, believe that arts education is important to supporting the development of the "whole child," and
- As Avon/Washington Township citizens, we value the positive impact that music and related arts education/programming has on our youth,
- Therefore, we respectfully urge the ACSC board and administration to act on the recommendations approved in the Corporation's 2011 Strategic Plan to "restore K-6 arts education to optimal levels."
