Resolved that the all residents and neighbors in Fox Point WI would like to have access to the beach of Lake Michigan. Previously public access was available at E. Greentree Rd. and Barnett Ln. A village maintained stairway to the beach there had fallen into disrepair and was removed some years ago. This stairway should be restored so that all residents can access the beach.
The hours and access should be limited in some way so as to reduce the impact on neighbors. (Example: No vehicle parking on roadway, parties by permit, no groups of more than 2 after 10 pm, etc)
To this end the residents of Fox Point will vote on an initiative, similar to the Footbridge project, where a combination of private and public funds combine to make the project financially viable.

I have submitted a formal request for an agenda spot at the next Village Board meeting to present the proposal for a public and private funding split. Local engineering contacts are currently reviewing the site requirements to ensure our plan aligns with current municipal safety standards.

As residents on Fox Lane I can speak to the benefits of having beach access. Our kids love it! Would be great if more people could enjoy a similar benefit!
Not a day goes by without the hope that someday this footpath would re-open. I am a nearby neighbor that would welcome families of all ages to be able to explore the beautiful landscape we have in Fox Point!
Beach Access is great. We love to walk down to Beach Drive. The kids love it.
We support having public access to the lake maintained by the city.
What a wonderful idea to open the beachfront to the people of Foxpoint. It was a beautiful aspect of the village and it would be wonderful to restore it. It adds to the quality of life in Foxpoint.

If the stairs cannot be rebuilt an alternative may be to create a path along the bluff connecting to Beach Drive. I believe that there is still a public right of way since these two roads once joined there.
