Restore Funding for Tourette Syndrome in PA State Budget

This group provides a huge amount of help to people in your state, Governor. This very minimal budget amount can make a difference in the lives of many children and adults.

Our Tourette's community in this state needs this support. It changes lives of people children and adults to have appropriate support. Tourette's is a disorder that can dramaticly affect ones life without appropriate advocates, educators and supporters. We need PATSA in this State for those with T.S. and our teachers, students and families working with them. Where is a child's parent to turn who is told there kid has Tourette Syndrome and the many associated disorders and are having problems daily at school? PATSA works on a tight budget and work for these kids and families and help put them in working order. They make a significant difference and are there when schools need them as well as families.

I've suffered from a debilitating case of tourette's syndrome since I was 16. I've had tourette's my whole life but it didn't become life threatening until 16. thankfully I now have a non fda approved surgery known as deep brain stimulation that is literally keeping me alive. I know several others with severe tourette's in PA that struggle every day

The training made possible by the funding is needed in the schools.

I am a licensed psychologist who treats children, adolescents and adults with Tourette syndrome. I have also been involved with PA-TSA for over 8 years and have served on the Board for 6 of those years. The funds are imperative to all of those who the Association serves. I am signing this on behalf of our 10 yr old son who has Tourette Sydrome. He is bullied everyday and he cannot afford to have Gov. Corbett eliminate this!

I don't like your decision. My brother has Tourette's.

My son has severe tourette's. The OCD, anxiety, tic's (many body harming) getting 4 hours sleep in 3 days we need help. Tourette's effects not just the person but the family, teachers, neighbors and public. Try explaining to your neighbors why your son is screaming for 3 hrs, to your boss-you're at the Dr's because your son screamed so much his throat is bleeding and you wont be in, to the cashier or customer in the store that your son can;t help it, to your son-I know your having a panic attach right here right now but we can't leave, we need to by food. Add the extra 45 min to a 10 minute trip. Having your daughter do homework at the neighbors because her brother is ticing too loudly. Tourettes is as much as a handicap as downsyndrome. Step up and help!
