Restore Funding for Tourette Syndrome in PA State Budget

This is much needed as Tourettes is still very misunderstood,

As someone who has tourette's and now 27 I have experienced everything and thankfully am left with very few symptoms but I know many kids that have the worst cses and truely need help and the funding so we can better help them live their daily lives. I make it everyday from the fact growing up I creted a friendship with former Philly Jim Eisenrich and we are able to talk and strive to be better everyday and he reassures a lot of people that things will be okay and get better.

I don't know where we would be w/out PA-TSA

Thomas Corbett would want this if a child of his own or any other relative or friend had TS. This punk needs to have some respect.

Mr. Corbette, my name is Diana M. Fetrow and I have a 14 year old grandson who was diagnosed with Tourettes Syndrome. I have watched him go through some rough times with this disorder and it isn't fun to watch. He has ticks that he can't control all the time, and he tries so hard to control them, and fit in with the other children. It is very hard for him to feel comfortable around other children his age at school, and he doesn't feel comfortable telling anyone what he has, because he fears they will make fun of him or call him names. He has been going to a Tourettes Camp where there are other people like him and he is finally starting to get comfortable with himself and accept what he has. It is hard for a grandmother to see her grandchildren go through any type of struggle, but I keep telling my grandson he is one of God's chosen children, and he is special. All of my grandchildren are special to me but so are all the other individuals out there that have this disorder, they are God's chosen ones. The goverment has spent millions of dollars on research for the treatment of AIDS and CANCER, so why can't we have the needed money to research what causes this disorder. To me it is just as important to find a cure or medicine to help control this disorder as it is to find a cure for the other illness's in the world. Any funding that is given will definitely help my grandson to be able to live a better life and I feel education about this disorder should be taught in the schools also. Maybe there wouldn't be so many children suffering from bullying if the other kids got educated about these things. You educate our children about sex in health class (which I feel the parents are responsible for telling thier children about) but you won't educate the kids on why a child may make funny faces or do things like a step hop when they walk. Thus this results in the child being made fun of or bullied, which is ten times worse. To cut this funding is as assanine.

Please keep funding people with Tourette's syndrome, there are so many who suffer from this and cannot live a normal life like other people.
