Restore Funding for Tourette Syndrome in PA State Budget

As an adult with TS and do many children suffering with this neurological disease, there is no room to ignore this. Children are suffering everyday without the correct educational support. As a young child, TS wasn't known well. But now that it is and was funded last year , why ket these children struggle and parents continue to fight because you won't support this. It is now that these children, teens and adults need help.

This makes me sick... I'm truly disgusted with Governor Corbett's decision to eliminate the funding for an organization that actually benefits those with Tourette's Syndrome. Apparently he has no empathy nor consideration for those living with this diagnosis. Perhaps he is sadly uneducated of what exactly this life long battle is all about. Perhaps he ought to do a bit of research and reading because it is obvious to me, the fiance of a "touretter", that he does NOT understand anything about the lives of those with TS; or maybe he just really doesn't care. This is the SECOND time he's done this within the last couple years. Disturbing, sad, frustrating, and disappointing.

This organization provide free special education advocacy for children with Tourette Syndrome. Through the advocacy, the children are given a better understanding of their TS and how to incorporate that into their lives and still live life to the fullest!!!

As a mom with a son with TS I know how important it is to have the funding for this. TS is not just one thing its like putting ADHA, ADAD, OCD , TICS, and many other thing in a box shaking it up and picking one out for THAT MOMENT! Yes that Moment. Keeping them inside all day long at school so no one will make fun of you.. and yes kids know how to do that without a teacher knowing ..Yes let me ask you can you hold a sneeze in while your at a meeting ???? Ask yourself that it better yet my Child with TS CHALLENGE YOU TO DO IT.. .Thanks The Slima Family

Do not cut funding for Tourette Syndrome! As a mom to a child with special needs I have experienced first hand the benefits this type of funding provides. Please think of the people the cut will affect, not just a budget.

This is absolutely needed. If you know anything about disabilities, then you know this funding is extremely important to our son and others who have this disability and to us and families like ours who have a loved one who has it.

Tourette Syndrome is a misunderstood neurological condition that affects individuals and their families. Continued funding will make a huge difference in the lives of all affected.

Governor Corbett don't stop the funding our children are counting on you.

Having a son suffering from Tourette Syndrome, I struggle every single day to find the resources to help him. I have relied on grants from the state to help educated my son's classmates as well as the faculty and staff of his school about this neurological disability. The impact the education has is invaluable. Please keep funding for Tourette Syndrome so many more children can benefit.

I am signing this on behalf of our 10 yr old son who has Tourette Sydrome. He is bullied everyday and he cannot afford to have Gov. Corbett eliminate this!

FUND TOURENT SYNDROME PLEASE

I have been involved with the Tourette's community since my own child's diagnosis more than 2 decades ago but as a professional in the field of psychology as well as a parent, I fully understand the important place of an organization like PATSA to the individuals, families, teachers, and peers impacted by someone with TS. And to the child him or herself, the help that this funding provides is simply life-changing and thus will matter to the adult citizens they become in this state of PA in the next several years.

Tourettes syndrome is just as important to fund as Autisim awareness not only because of how closely they are related but also because of the misunderstanding and ridicule that is accepted as a society for the people with Tourettes. You wouldn't even think to stop funding if someone in your family had this.
