Speaking for myself as an individual, I find these actions deplorable, and I feel like none of this was shared with the SIGs in advance. The bibliometrics are not primarily serving readers - they serve authors, most of whom are part of organizations that have paid enormous fees for affiliated scholars to publish Open with ACM. I hope this can become a lesson learned and be quickly resolved. Chair ACM SIGCAS

These times require a long-term mentality. Denying full access to the DL is a short-sighted, petty and counterproductive measure, improper of the ACM.

Keeping metadata and search paywalled is unlikely to give the DL more subscribers but will hurt the community. Please reconsider!

ACM should focus on upholding their core mission of "serving both professional and public interests by fostering the open exchange of information and by promoting the highest professional and ethical standards". Stop sabotaging the mission by trying to monetize everything on the margins.
