Full free access to independent researchers also please. How else will everyone be able to contribute/collaborate and pursue the most important questions in our field?

I joined the ACM way back in the 1980s, when I was still in college and getting my BSCS. This is the first action I've seen from the ACM in a long time that I consider to be reprehensible, and which must be reversed immediately!

ACM must reverse course, because this move is definitely in the wrong direction.

As a long-time ACM member, conference organizer, steering committee chair, and more, I do oppose this extraction of wealth out of my volunteering work with completely unclear benefits to the community and very clear harm.

I'm an CACM Editorial Board member and prior chair of an ACM conference. How can we talk about expanding participation in computing if our primary archive limits access to important metadata?

I am against the paywall! The ACM built this metadata based on volunteer work and should support full open access as a way of giving back.
