I have an institutional access to ACM DL (and IEEE's) , however, I think Open Access to institutional DLs is important. But, it does need to be paid for. I am certainly not (and never have been) in favour of "page fees" for publications!

So sad that we would have to sign this petition. A great institution that has been so strong, and so important to our community, seems to have lost its way. This sad misstep must be undone. ASAP!

This action is contrary to the need for accurate scientific information being widely available during a period when anti-science misinformation is on the upswing. As a retiree who has been a member of ACM for 48 years, I strongly oppose this move.

Please restore free access.

Terrible decision by ACM leadership, totally lacking respct for ACM authors, contributors, editors, and referees who have been working as volunteers, including many for 50 years, such as myself. Erol Gelenbe ACM Fellow and Lifetime Member.
