The Students of all Foreign Language classes received the news today that all upper-level classes would be cut due to a budgeting decision made by the Dean of Intercultural and International Studies at De Anza. From now on, All the level 3, 4, 5, and 6 classes in any foreign language except Spanish, will only be offered in the Fall quarter of each year. However, this makes it impossible for anyone majoring in a language to complete the necessary coursework required to transfer to a 4-year university. It would take a student 5 years to get through all six levels of their chosen language. A few years ago, the school also cut all conversational classes, and we need those back as well.
