The Credit River as a spawning ground for salmon and steelhead must be protected and made as accessible as possible for these species. This river has been used for he restoration of Atlantic Salmon in Lake Ontario.. This species was eradicated from the lake at the end of the 1900s through damming of streams, vegetation removal from stream banks and over fishing. Atlantic Salmon have been reintroduced using the Credit River, and have begun to repopulate. Please help with the ongoing restoration of the Atlantic Salmon by ensuring access to spawning areas is unimpeded. The benefit of restoring fish is not only ecologically important, but also economically important to the sport fishing industry in the Lake Ontario basin. This industry translates into thousands of jobs in the tourism and recreation sectors of our economy. Please do this before it is too late!

Keep the fish ways open all the time!!! I've been saying this for years and no one seems to be able to convince the CRAA that it's a good idea. When I was 13- 19 years old there were salmon all over the credit all the way to Norval.

Why is that our government leaves maintaining and restoring natural fish habitat to volunteers? When the fish are all gone it will be too late and very sad. Our ecosystems are under your watch! Hold yourself accountable!
