The time I spent with the drama club while at hinsdale Central were some of the best memories of my life. I made great friends and truly felt at home with the drama club and it would be awful to see such a great group with a great history and traditions wither away.

Absolutely all clubs and activities should be fully restored and there should be NO combining of these between the two schools!!

Please restore all clubs and activities including the arts. To fully do so for sports but not so for co-curriculars is unfair to the students for whom sports is not where they find their place in high school. We voted yes on the referendum to help get it passed and now we ask the BOE to do what is right for ALL students.

Please restore the arts! They are as important if not more so than athletics. Your drama department exceeds expectations and it would be a great loss to the students and the community if this program could not continue. Please restore all drama and music!

My son who is now in college was both and athlete and a thespian. I believe that both disciplines are important in and individual’s formation. The art program deserves the same funding as the sport program. My incoming freshman deserves the same opportunities.

To be super clear...we need the arts just as much as we need athletics. Please support and spread the word.

The arts are just as important as sports. Don't let the EXCELLENT arts programs we have go away. We fought hard to pass this!

Please restore all drama and music. Drama is not less important than sports. This is the primary programming for many students and many students go on to major in theater and related arts in college or even receive scholarships.

Not everyone finds their place in sports. Theatre (and the Arts, in general) are vital to a rich society. They often force us to look at issues that make us uncomfortable, which leads to deeper discussion. How many people have been moved by “Rudy,” or “Field of Dreams,” or “Bend It Like Beckham”? I would argue that our appreciation of sports is heightened through art. Please consider restoring these cuts.

The non-sport extra curriculars like drama at hchs are standout programs and a essential to student development as sports. The classmates from my hchs class went off to do great things in the arts for careers. Hchs drama and other arts programs set them on that path. Don’t give these programs less than they deserve!

Every child has unique interests and should have them cultivated in school. Read ANYTHING about how children learn—everyone needs something different.

Please reinstate all programs for the Drama department! I have a two children at Hinsdale Central who are involved in sports and an incoming student who is primarily involved in Drama! I believe all my children and ALL students should have equal opportunities to participate in school.

Drama and the arts should not take a second seat to sports!!!
