Majority suffers under minority rule!

This bike lane has caused many hazards for both drivers and pedestrians. Traffic cannot be seen from sidewalk forcing pedestrians to have to walk out into traffic to see if it is safe to cross. Also, bikers still use car lanes and sidewalks despite this so called bike lane. Delivery drivers cannot safely make deliveries either. Also, emergency vehicles have now been stalled having to go around cars blocking the one of now only two usable lanes. Why were the residents not asked for any input before we were forced into having these ugly white poles and lanes destroy the historical neighborhood? Back bay commission and rules anyone? The residents have to abide by all,of the regulations to maintain our beautiful historical buildings which are now obstructed with ugly white markers all over a once beautiful street!,

I guess bicycles rule city hall. You added no turn on red which causes more traffic delays. Right turns no create danger, because parked cars obstruct drivers view. Bicycleists don’t observe traffic rules or traffic lights. Carrying heavy articles from a parked car right side door is now extremely dangerous Bicycleists drive the wrong way on Beacon bike lanes

We do not need a bike lane on Beacon. Comm Ave is more suitable to bikers. It is too hard to see bikers when making turns.

I am sad that no one asked before the reconfiguration. When you make a right turn on Exeter to back street you cannot see the bicyclists. I see the bikers riding in the street not in the lane. When cars double park it is dangerous because it becomes one lane. Please put it back!!!

I am signing this petition to restore Beacon Street parking and driving lines. As a biker, I don't understand the benefit, I will keep using the Esplanade path. As a resident I find it absolutely more dangerous for us as pedestrians.

This new redesign is awful to navigate and is more dangerous to everyone. Please return our street to its original lanes.

This bike lane addition is extremely dangerous. Every day I take a right turn onto Exeter St from Beacon and in the past 3 weeks I've almost hit/been hit by a cyclist b/c I can not see them in the bike lane b/c of truck/van/car parked in the last spot before the light.

As a biker and resident of Beacon st for 14+ years, I can attest to the streets being MORE dangerous for pedestrians, vehicles, and bikers as no one seems to use the protected lane. Additionally when Beacon st was three lanes, rush hour traffic was already very difficult to navigate with Uber and other Rideshares double parking and taking the road down to two lanes temporarily. Now, with the protected bike lanes, Rideshares take the street down to ONE lane and create a dangerous traffic situation for everyone on the road, including bicycles who choose to still ride on the streets, and find themselves bottle necked by people getting out of cars. Great idea, poor execution. Beacon st is a major thoroughfare and must be able to accommodate ALL traffic EFFICIENTLY.

Please correct this awful situation that has essentially made beacon street into a one lane road. It was once one of the most beautiful streets in the country and now has become a vehicle snarled eyesore with slow traffic and double parking at all hours of the day and night. Thank you.

This truly is a gross imposition on the Back Bay. I dont know where they got 1/6th of the road (in the introduction paragraph) - it is ONE THIRD of the road they took for this social experiment. They eliminated an entire lane of cars for this bike lane- 33% of the road for less than 1% of the traffic. Plus, there are still bikers that dont use this lane! Of course, when you point this out to them, you get such a polite response. I agree with the writer who asked where the city meetings were for the neighborhood before this was imposed? I have more to say, but will do so later. Thank you for this much needed forum for discussion!

This has created a dangerous driving situation forcing cars to constantly weave in and out to avoid double parked cars and trucks.

The increased noise pollution due to cars getting honked at who are double parked is unbearable

404 Beacon St The frequent double parking of UPS, Fedex and other delivery trucks reduces Beacon St to two lanes and makes the resulting zig-zag driving pattern dangerous. When I cross Beacon St at Gloucester St, I have to walk halfway into the street to make sure that the oncoming traffic will actually stop for their red light before I continue. An unforeseen consequence is that carpet cleaners will refuse to come because they do not to run their tubes across the bike lane where they might get crushed by the occasional bike rider. Most of the bicyclists still ride on the street or on the sidewalk, as before, and extremely few "follow the rules of the road" and stop for a red light. Yes, there have been accidents on Beacon St, but I believe that a better solution would be for the City to step up (from hardly any) enforcement of the traffic laws as to speed and red lights, AND enforcement of the bicycle laws as to weaving, red lights and pedestrian right of way.

The new bike lane on Beacon Street is just plain stupid. It's wildly unsafe and burdensome to traffic. Cabs and Ubers and others are constantly double parking on Beacon Street which results in a massive traffic snarl and dangerous condition both for drivers and pedestrians, not to mention an enormous headache for residents who have to listen to traffic horns and people yelling at each other.
