New pattern isn’t working

This is misguided and causes very dangerous, often single lanes for cars. Isn't this an evacuation route???

I was talking to a man who has used Beacon St. to bike to work for years. He work in Brookline Village. He said that he hates the new bike lane. He said it is slanted and bumpy and not safe to use for a commuting speed. He told me that he now uses the road. Recently, a Beacon St. neighbor shouted to him to use the bike path. I explained that the neighbors are a bit grumpy about the misguided redesign.

Beacon Street was once an beautiful street and now it is a shadow of its former self. Please return Beacon Street back to the way it was always intended

I would like to get involved in this. Frankly I don't think the city will take anything down but we can do something about bicycle violators who disregard the law. this could include signage, a group visit to mayor's office, ads in the newspaper,etc.

These"brilliant" folks who cooked this up should just watch the bikes still ignore the traffic signs, and still ride in the automobile lanes, while the double-parkers block one of the remaining lanes at all times. I notice they didn't extend the foolish bike lane all the way up Beacon Hill. Hmmm...

Congratulations!! you have made Beacon Street more dangerous for everyone including bicyclists.

In addition to everything else, the new configuration is unsafe. By simple geometry, in the event of a fire, the trucks will be further away, and their ladders not reach as high .

Please relocate the bike lanes on Beacon Street. They are less safe (e.g. when a car turns right or pedestrians crossing the street) and make Beacon Street into a one lane street for much of the day with all the double parking.

I am very worried about Beacon Street. The new configuration is dangerous to bikers, walkers and drivers. Many times the street is down to one lane due to delivery trucks, users, etc. This is a terrible design that needs to be rethought. Let us have our street back!

The redesign makes driving, biking and walking Beacon Street more dangerous given the street that daily narrows to one lane given parked cars on BOTH sides of the street, bike lane, residents unloading, UBER/Lift pickups/delivery trucks/ construction crews that daily populate this street. Also diminishes access for potential evacuation and emergency vehicles. Fire Dept worried that ladders can't reach above 6th floor for rescues as fire engines parked in middle of Beacon Street such that ladders can't extend. It is really difficult for drivers to see bikers and for bikers to see drivers making turns at intersections. As a driver on side street, I have to poke out so far over cross walk to check for traffic given width of bike lane and parked cars. I live at Beacon and Exeter Street and walk everywhere, but have to cross bike lane and parked cars to see if traffic is on coming. This traffic pattern befuddles the imagination for safety of drivers, bikers, walkers for the road is visually complicated with white posts and signage and SO congested for all -The pattern is UNSAFE, INEFFICIENT and UGLY. How many bikers actually use Beacon Street? Could they ride Comm Ave that is so much safer for all?

The new lane setup is unsafe for cars and bikes, and slows traffic. Bikes should be directed to Commonwealth Ave between Arlington and Mass Ave.

It is a nightmare to turn from the new only one lane Dartmouth Street onto Beacon Street. Traffic is congested and, combined with the double parked delivery trucks, Beacon Street is now virtually only one lane! I wonder if any decision makers of this change even live in Beacon!!
