I already have MY money confiscated for an unaccountable federal government. How stupid of my city to confiscate more to do the same with our children. As an employer I must retrain today's students that doing 70% of their work does not equate to 100% of their pay. God help America!

These common sense grading practices will prepare my children for experiences in secondary education and the work force. They allow for discretion for those struggling and do not penalize students who meet standards. Do not implement the recommendationsame put forth by the Fair and Equitable Grading Committee.

If we do not teach our school children that preparation, independent work and study, deportment, honesty, and meeting deadlines are as important as knowing the subject matter and not hold them accountable for these actions by lowering their grade or evening giving zeros for work not done then how are they going to be prepared and be able to accomplish these requirements and compete with other employees and owners when they graduate into the real world where all of these assets are not only highly valued but required?

Creating an interest in investigation (homework) will culminate in judging everything in life. This is not only rewarding for the teacher but gives the student a solid footing in our society, be it local, national or worldwide. Learning to focus on the task at hand and complete the "job" is something the school system should be setting a better standard for to prepare for the real world.

I think all schools should have the grades A to E. Not this dp, n and all the others. Why does it have to be complicated? I like having the A,B,C,D,E grading scale

The idea of removing accountability is rudiculous. Thank goodness my children are grown.

I work in the medical field, and we are already seeing the implications of new graduates that have not been held to the same standards as years past, and especially that have not been held to the same standards as other countries. We are falling behind, and less accountability in the schools for work ethic, timeliness, and "doing it right the first time" is not the answer.

I think the petition seems very reasonable. I think students need to be held to a higher, not lower, standard to keep up with the global market. Thank you involved parents for your time and effort and helping create a better school system for the future children of the city. Great effort. I agree with the petition.

Students who work diligently to turn in assignments on time should not have that effort ignored or be lumped in with students who do not make that same effort. Zeros are a fact of life. If you don't do the work you don't earn the points. College doesn't work like that, jobs do not accept that type of behavior. I fear that college admissions will put VB applications to the bottom of the pile with this type of philosophy. It is not realistic and it does not benefit our students or our teachers.
