Reston Zoning Moratorium Petition

Please do not ruin Reston by building out without concern for infrastructure.

Too many high raises already. Enough is enough! Please stop!!!

Poor planning and greed will result in an overburdened transportation system and a much higher population density

I have been proud to live in this wonderfully planned community and would like to see smart, sustainable growth continue. Development must be planned with investments in services and infrastructure.

I have lived in Reston for 42 years and am totally disappointed in the powers that be who are allowing Reston to become something Robert E. Simon certainly never envisioned!!!! Stop the massive development you greedy developers!

Please don't destroy something beautiful.

Development is simply out of control with no end in sight. The system literally needs to hit the pause button; step back and figure out the best way to move forward without literally bringing complete gridlock on existing residents.

I am for density and growth, but I am also dismayed that the county supervisors appear to have no respect for smart urban planning or the design ideals that once defined Reston. We need better stewardship, better governance and better planning and policies to ensure roads, schools, sidewalks, green spaces, mixed income neighborhoods and economic opportunities accompany any changes to long-established land uses. A moratorium is essential, and developers who want to rush through changes will need to wait and participate in a more open and democratic process to balance their aspirations for Reston with those of the people who live there.

You can't even move on the roads during rush hour now, and opening more metro stations isnt going to help. Stop the madness!

Incredibly disturbing news of fairfax trying to change Roberts original plan and commitment for Reston to stay beautiful and NOT overly developed.

This is a plea to responsibly control growth in Reston. Development must be phased with infrastructure.

Totally against this new zoning plan.

Reston will be destroyed by the uncontrolled greed of developers and tax hungry County administrators.

Reston was built on the idea of natural beauty. Reston Association controls the trees and the materials and colors for our houses and now the county wants to go against all the beautiful principals of Reston. Fairfax County stop the developers. We have had enough.

Their are "Tears in Heaven" over what is happening. R. E. Simon is watching. I would add to the petition that Preservation and maintenance of walking paths is essential to the livability and spirit of Reston. Any new development plans should include well designed paths and maintenance of ALL those that now exist.

Fairfax County is going to kill the goose that laid the golden egg if this new zoning plan is approved. We are totally opposed.

I live in Reston and work in Herndon. It often takes 20 to 25 minutes to go less than 5 miles. My business, a yoga studio, has already lost a lot of clients because they can't reach my studio in a reasonable amount of time. If density increases without an equal increase in infrastructure, I will lose my business.

Greed is destroying America and Reston leads the way. Shameful.

Agree we need realistic phased out plans,funding and appropriate infrastructure in place in synch with growth

Keep the current Reston PRC density limits at the current level of 13. The increasing density within the Transit Station Areas will drive overall Reston density up impacting quality of life for all Reston and surrounding Fairfax County residents. Any increases in density should be restricted to the TSA and retain the lower density neighborhood quality of life vision for non-TSA parts of Reston.
