One of Reston's greatest assets is that in the middle of suburbia it still has areas with rural character. That is a priceless feature of our community. I would hate to see it destroyed in the interest of development. Once it's gone, it is gone forever.

Fund and implement the infrastructure changes made necessary by the addition of the Metro station to Reston before adding to the already ridiculous traffic congestion by encouraging additional development. Why not see the impact of the additional population that the high rise buildings already under construction will be to traffic, schools, police and fire resources before enabling additional development? Why the rush? Who is benefiting?

My family and I chose Reston for a reason: lower population density, parks, trails, trees... Please do not alter these by increasing the density and uprooting the sense of place that attracted us over a decade ago.

The plan to widen existing roads even more is terrible. Reston Parkway is wide enough! Where will the space come from? From the adjacent tree barrier in front of the Hyatt, most likely, in that section. Nix the additional development, leave the cap where it is.

I don't mind some building up , but Reston was built with ideas of lots of shared green spaces and the ability to walk everywhere. Don't change the feeling of our wildlife protectorate.

We bought in Reston over 20 years ago because it was "a planned growth community." Instead, it's become far uglier and suffocating like downtown Tysons, Bethesda and Rosslyn because we who live here are never consulted about the uncontrolled growth and its negative impact on our lives.

I do not support Fairfax County's efforts to continue to overbuild in Reston. We're losing too much green space. Reston is starting to look like Arlington / 66 corridor.

We need to be far more concerned for those who currently live in Reston than this plan allows. It would change the quality of life for all. DO NOT increase density so dramatically. The people who vote in elections DO NOT WANT THIS.

In population and cars, Reston has already maxed out, and it is beginning to go down hill. I strongly support this petition and its objectives.
