Reston Zoning Moratorium Petition

I moved to reston from out of state last year because it is a planned community which I believed wouldn't be overdeveloped like fairfax and Vienna. Changing the population density would negate the very reason I moved here. If I wanted to live amongst tons of people, I would have moved to Arlington or tysons where traffic is horrendous and open space is rare.

Our community is not for sale to Fairfax County.

We need smart development, not fast development, that's based on growing a community

What the county is doing to Reston is outrageous. Meddling for money is lacks integrity, decency and respect for the residents.

For 19 years we live in and love Reston the way it is. We ask for no changes in zoning to keep Nature of Reston and vision of Robert Simon alive .

Too many people living in one location is not a good thing. The Hunter Mill Supervisor mentioned that she was upset about seeing disturbing slurs being used that were not happening when she first came to Reston. People are living on top of each other and that creates hostility. There is a great need for open space.

Traffic already dangerous at am and pm rush hours. Difficult for ambulances and fire trucks to get to emergencies anywhere along Reston Parkway, Centerville Rd, West Ox, Lawyers, Parkway, McLearen Rd etc. More cars won't make Hunter Mill District better to live and work in--but much worse!!!

I agree with a zoning moratory in Reston ,until infrastructure is funding to serve increase demand of growing population.

Reston should not grow more then it can support...

For starters, the developers MUST be required to pay toward or make the necessary infrastructure changes UP FRONT as building is done. Otherwise, they will ALWAYS have a wiggle way out of any responsibility. The County is being VERY foolish in this regard. What "pockets are being filled" in this deal? Also, only 57 more students of 500 units? That many+ children pour off just 1(one) schoolbus in a condo development third the size of 500 now. The County & RA delude themselves & hope to delude the current citizens.

I attended two informational sessions by the zoning board. I am 100% against increasing the density in Reston. There is not a plan to accommodate this change.

Enough is enough.

Failure by the county to use appropriate means to manage development will destroy the community of Reston. If officials believe that development is necessary, how about officials showing the courage to propose a countywide tax increase to fund infrastructure first.
