In 1982, it took 7 minutes to cross town. Now, it can take 15 minutes on Wiehle between N. Shore Dr. and Sunrise Valley. Reston is already choking with traffic. Stop building!

It already takes 20 to 25 minutes to drive the 4.1 miles between my home and my job. More density is not going to make life better for Reston residents.

The proliferation of high-rise construction and its attendant future increase in traffic is untenable and unbeautiful (e.g., the block-square monstrosity going up at the entrance to RTC).

Being a teacher and resident of Reston I am strongly opposed to this idea to add more growth in housing and businesses to Reston!

I have lived in Reston for 12 years. In those 12 years, I have seen so much growth and traffic added to this area that the lights and roads can't keep up. Please stop adding more residential. We must keep Reston special for those that already live here.

Cathy Hudgins repeatedly has shown that she does not care about the impact of this development on current residents and repeatedly has misled the public -- from what the master plan actually, currently provides to her comments on a proposed new building at the TC that other public officials and local newspapers described as an overgrown monstrosity. No thanks to her, the latter ended up being disapproved. She isn't up for election for several years and considers herself to be in a safe seat anyway. So we cannot count on her to listen -- even at public meetings she has bullied residents and cut them off. We have to take action ourselves for our interests to be taken into account.

The population density will explode with all of these new high-rise buildings. The next building seems to be bigger than the last. School classrooms are at capacity with 30-35 students in elementary classes already. It seems like a we need to strike more of a balance between density and new development. It is a compromise but I am not sure the planning commission is getting is quite right. I have been a resident since elementary school. I hope you also fight to keep Reston International Golf course from being developed into housing. We could do with a first class facility like 1757 or at a minimum we should turn the course into parkland.

People in cars are getting vicious and mean. We are used to driving in a small town. Now with tons of more cars, it is awful to just cross town. STOP the madness of this development.

Reston is already too crowded - so different from when I first moved here, and getting more overcrowded. Reston no longer feels like a community with so much traffic and more buildings blocking the skyline. With this level of construction, I am thinking of leaving Reston and moving closer to D.C., since Reston is losing its feel of nature and community. If and how soon that happens depends on construction such as this. Thanks for your efforts!
