Reston Zoning Moratorium Petition

Stop making decisions that affect thousands negatively and a few financially. "We the people . . ."

I support this moratorium. Reston is already overdeveloped without any increases to road capacity.

This planned density is more than can be supported by the infrastructure here and planned. Reston is on its way to being unlivable and ugly.

Bigger is NOT Better for those who live in Reston!!

The only ones benefitting from this are the developers. One of the great virtues of Reston is the open space and abundance of nature which we are losing every day.

We have already lost the charm and "wonderfullness" of Reston!!! To add fuel to the fire they want to add 30,000 more people!!! Shameful!!!!!!

Reston is not the bucolic community it once was. Traffic is unbearable and Cathy Hudgins only promotes building more housing.

Traffic in Reston is already approaching gridlock during rush hour. (Just try making a left turn onto Sunset Hills.) The existing approved building around the Metro stations will make it much worse. The idea that all those people living and working near the Metro stations will take Metro to work is laughable--the vast majority of people commute to and from places that are inaccessible by Metro. Any increase in density will not only violate the founding principles of Reston, it will make traffic so bad as to make much of the area unlivable. Represent your constituents for a change, instead of the developers who fund your campaign coffers.

I want to keep our neighborhood as a tight knit living place and not seeing have large we get.

This is folly. You will destroy what Reston is. Progress is okay if done in a common sense way, but this is ridiculous. Please get real and think about how you are destroying this town.

We have been residents for 25+ year and do not want to see this area ruined by urban sprawl.

Reston is already over developed but with people come taxes. Taxes pay for the roads and citizens need to voice their desires for how taxes should be spent. I don't want my hard earned tax contribution to go to corporate America. Support local businesses more. INcrease all infrastructure fees to cover cost of public safety and fire. Do what is best for all, not just some.

With housing/business comes people. With people comes cars. Are we planning for more roads? Let's think this through. Reston is getting big enough.

We used to go to Reston from great falls all the time. Now we avoid it. Crazy.

Stop overcrowding Reston! If i wanted this type of density I would have moved to Arlington!

The traffic is unacceptable. I didn’t purchase a home to have this overgrowth of population and overcrowded schools. High taxes for less life quality.

I agree with other comments; Reston is not Arlington/Tysons or at least it wasn't created for that reason. Neither myself nor many other residents moved here because we wanted that experience either. Tired of looking at high rises that are likely full of empty condos.

I agree with other comments that if I wanted to live in a congested area of high rises, I would have moved inside the beltway. Some growth is understandable and expected, but this is not the town I moved to. I won't even go to RTC anymore. Let's please cool our jets and think like Bob Simon would have before another building goes up.
