Students need more recess, and this is a local solution for that problem. This is a petition to add 14 more minutes of recess to the combined lunch and recess period in the Central Middle School of Greenwich, CT in an effort to give children more exercise every day. This will be done by taking away two minutes from each of the seven periods of the day. It is important for every student to get enough recess daily, because without it students pay far less attention in school, have more trouble socializing and picking up social cues, are more fidgety, are more likely to contract many negative health ailments, and are less likely to exercise daily.
