The City of Yonkers should not even entertain using public park land for parking. Once the green space is gone it will be gone forever.

If Covid has taught anything it’s that we need open air spaces for people to be able to enjoy the outdoors. Yonkers is overcrowded and cramped enough. We need to keep and build open air green spaces for people to enjoy the beautiful landscape of Yonkers. We don’t need more buildings and garages.

Parkland is for leisurely gazing at the sky, smelling the grass, admiring the beauty of nature, playin with friends and family, protecting flora and fauna. and breathing in the sweet air off the spectacular Hudson River. As Joni Mitchell sang in the 70's putting up a parking lot is destruction. Respect our community by maintaining Trevor Park and JFK Marina for parkland. Create an attractive City with Respect for residents around Trevor Park and JFK Marina. Plan for adequate parking on the Glenwood Power Plant site or adequate transportation to the work site.

There should be search for alternative locations or designs that do not spoil the waterfront with a parking garage vista - yonkers deserves a public of the power plant but not an ugly parking lot in a public park

I support development to our downtown area but we should leave space for the taxpayers to enjoy the waterfront, not just the renters we are luring from the city.

I’ve been going to Trevor Park since the 70’s and 80’s when they used to hold the Afro Heritage events there in the summer time. I would hate to see it go just like that. Especially being used for a parking lot. A lot of kids still depend on that park. That’s all they have in that area.

The developers should provide the space for parking, not taxpayers. Building on top of this space would jeopardize the dividends gained by the community, wildlife, and natural landscape forever.

I have learned more about this proposal and am dismayed about this garage location as now proposed. I would rather see a petition that would state that the plant is still supported. Just a better solution of the parking is needed. The former proposal to put the garage on the east side of the tracks and within the hill and to replace the park area it would take up on its roof seemed a better solution.
