I've spent so many hours enjoying nature at this park it would be super disappointing if it was not there to go back and enjoy one of the most special places in this city! Stop destroying our planet!

Surely this is not a good idea. Preserve the natural beauty of Yonkers. Spend the money on cleanup and improvement of sections in Yonkers that need it.

You cannot sacrifice the quality of life of the residents for a private development. Also, the environmental impact of losing a park is detrimental. You’ll decrease property value; it’s a lot of negatives outweighing the positives

There is no need for a garage there. This is a beautiful area to have an eye sore erected. I do not wish to live next to a garage.

My husband and I have lived in Yonkers for 4 years now and recently moved to this area in late January. One of the main reasons we moved here is because of the park and the marina. In the short time that we have lived in this area we have grown to love the park and marina space. Through these tough times we have appreciated being able to go to our backyard essentially, to get some fresh air. This plan that the developers have come up with is really disappointing. They need to come up with a better plan that will benefit our community.

I appreciate your take on last night’s news. I heard the same thing in that report. For garage or you are against kids. Also, the claim that people against the garage don’t live in the neighborhood is also patently false. Is two blocks away close enough to be part of the neighborhood? When I opposed the garage in Trevor Park 9 years ago it was for our community and our kids. Same reasons today against the Marina garage. Only this time, there truly is an environmental element as well. The longest structure, in all of Yonkers, for cars for an environmental center!!?? Those ideas are not in agreement. I’m with you- fix the parks we have now. Protect and improve our beautiful community resources. Provide for our kids. Astroturf in cages on a rooftop is not the answer. People claim that there will be 1000s of local jobs. I am not seeing the details on those promises either. As so many have said in this petition- once the waterfront is gone, we won’t be getting it back. I look forward to seeing our community members on the March 8 zoom call with the city.

I live in the area and I was so disappointed by the News 12 coverage. It now seems that Goren and Mayor Spano is now using politically connected African American “leaders” in the community to frame this land grab as affecting the children of the community. This is not a new tactic but it’s getting tired; As a African American who lives near to the marina I find this deeply offensive. Sure they are always two sides in any debate but trying to divide this community WILL NOT WORK! Can someone ask the “leaders” why hasn’t Yonkers improved adjacent Trevor Park to create the REAL green spaces our youth need. Why do us parents have to use our car lights for our kids nighttime football practice?.. O I get it, Yonkers was looking to give this park over to the developer too!..

I personally feel there is more than enough public space being sold to developers along the waterfront.. The citizens that need to maintain our free public space without the obstruction of another parking lot..
