Surely with good will the City of Yonkers and the developer can find an alternative to this destruction of a loved park

If Mayor Spano and the City of Yonkers want to make the city beautiful, they should preserve the environment; not increase congestion and smog with a parking garage to satisfy one developer. There has to be a better solution and the city should work to find it.

This is just an awful idea on all levels - environmentally, quality of life-wise and aesthetically. Put parking in the power plant building. Other developments do, this should be no exception.

When a company says that a parking structure for a commercial venture on park land will benefit the community, one has to be suspect. The way I see it the only 'community' that would benefit from this parking structure would be the commercial venture itself. The only outcome would be crowded 'open space' that doesn't seem so open any more.

All parking must be at the proposed Glenwood Power Plant development. We need green park space along the waterfront. The once attractive, Getty Square has been boxed in, overshadowed and ruined by over development. Do not let that happen to the waterfront. Please work with all community groups to make a park for the community.

No expanded parking areas or new parking garages for motor vehicles should be developed anymore - future generations will not be as car-centric (young people don't want cars - walk, take bikes, public transportation or lyft/uber + cars will be driverless so people won't need to have a car). All decisions need to support a healthy community and help mitigate climate disaster. A parking garage on the waterfront doesn't fit a healthy resilient future.
