Whereas independent casting job listing services have been a long, costly and unstable arena for union members, and that iactor is a service provided by SAG-AFTRA for casting directors to post notices which is stable, free and user friendly, we hereby petition background casting directors to use iactor as the primary service for posting the daily casting notices.
Whereas it is necessary to fit union members to the available union jobs iactor provides this service which is free, stable and user friendly to both casting directors and members.
Whereas SAG-AFTRA has not negotiated for background casting directors to use iActor as the primary service to post union background casting notices, we the individual members are petitioning background casting directors for this relief.

I am currently organizing the data from our signatures to prepare a formal presentation for key casting agencies. My next step involves drafting a structured proposal that highlights the operational inefficiencies caused by the reliance on third party platforms.

The current momentum confirms that centralizing casting notices on iActor is a priority for the membership. I am now reaching out to union representatives to schedule formal meetings regarding the integration of this platform.

Especially after a year with little to no work, a free service to help union members get work would be a major help.
Long over due. I can’t get work to save my life. I haven’t had a background gig in 3 years.
It hasn’t been easy submitting for work, but of late it has been been expensive and nearly impossible. iactor could be our solution.
Unfortunately this petition does not make sense. In order for “ background casting companies use iActor as the primary source for posting union casting notices” to even be considered, iActor needs to be reworked to become a casting portal. Currently iActor is nothing more than a searchable talent database, casting notices are not posted to iActor.
Actors have been made to pay for casting notices for too long. IActor would be a meaningful change if utilized for casting for no charge.
Mandatory Union positing on our site before any paid site.
