The Students' Union at New College Nottingham believe the resit system is severely flawed. Not only are the costs too high at £15 per unit, but students are given just one week to hand in their money before a ludicrous late fee is incurred. Late fees are not progressive and add an extra £25 pounds to the cost of a resit. As it stands, many students find great difficulty in meeting this requirement for one of a thousand reasons. In some cases, they feel it is unfair to have to pay out all this money when they are resitting for an upgrade, not because they failed or underachieved.
After researching this area, NCNsu has began the campaign 'Resit. Results.'
This campaign calls for the college to reform the resit system to help students OF ALL BACKGROUNDS to get everything they can from their time at college. We call for this reform to
-Reduce costs
-Extend the deadline
-Introduce progressive late fees
By signing this petition you are lending NCNsu and all the students here your support for making the resit system more student friendly.
Help us help you.
15 quid a unit is a joke when you are already struggling to pay for travel and books. the deadline is way too short too.

Ridiculous that they charge us extra just to improve our grades. Some of us actually care about our results but can't afford to pay these stupid fines every time.
